At Solstice I have designed mobile and web apps across a number of industries. My role involves early strategic concept work all the way through to development-ready screen designs. The work I’ve done to create business-driving experiences for our clients’ customers has been both challenging and rewarding. Here are some other things I do:

  • Collaborate as part of a cross-functional scrum team

  • Design, validate, and ship web and mobile apps in unique problem spaces

  • Design creative and thoughtful interactions for web (Angular and React) and native mobile apps

  • Workshop with teammates and clients to foster more collaboration

  • Lead a committee of UX peers that have planned and hosted over 14 design events at Solstice

I worked as a visual and UX designer on a number of ecommerce websites for B2B and B2C clients. At PTG we made use of ecommerce platforms like Magento and Shopify to quickly launch solutions for our clients. My goal as a designer was to craft creative, custom web experiences within the constraints of our platforms. Here are a few other things I did:

  • Lead design presentations and in-person kickoff meetings with our clients

  • Managed and mentored a remote, off-shore designer

  • Managed and mentored a marketing designer who transitioned into a UI/UX role

Post-Bacc Certificate in Visual Communication Design from SAIC

Graduated 2015

In 2014 I was accepted into SAIC’s 3-year MFA program and awarded the Presidential Merit Scholarship. I ended up leaving the program after collecting my post-bacc certificate at the end of year one. I picked up foundational design skills at SAIC and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

BS in Biochemistry and Biology from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln

After highschool I studied science for 4 years in my home state. The highlights of the experience included the opportunity to teach a genetics lab course as an undergrad teaching assistant, moonlighting as a fly whisperer (aka lab assistant) in a graduate genetics lab, and taking a summer ecology class at Cedar Point Biological Station. I also picked up minors in Chemistry and Psychology.
